IMPORTANT NOTES WITH THE ALPHA/EXPERIMENTAL BUILDS

If you use 2.2.3z i HIGHLY suggest you download 2.2.4g instead, since the previous version
had a very severe bug in the scanner that crippled the results of found files to about half.

Recoding an engine is not the easiest work ever, especially not
when the old engine worked good, except that it was slower
than it should have been. The key problem now is that i dont
know what is broken and not, since i cannot check 200 formats and archives
easly by myself. I have done some tests for some of the games
that i currently have, and those works just fine with the new engine,
but i doubt everything is in working order. So please if you find
a format that has previously worked with the older scanner,
then write me an email and tell me about it, its my only chance to
get this new scanner to work in the way the old one was.

Thank you for your cooperation.

History--------------------------------------------------------------
fixes in 2.2.4g
I told a blatant lie when I said that, threads that don't
start properly doesn't cripple the ripping. Sure as hell they did.
hopefully orphan threads that doesn't do anything has now been resolved.
RIFF Detector now is faster when detecting something that isn't
really a RIFF Header, due to better integrity checking.
---------------------------------------------------------------------

History--------------------------------------------------------------
fixes in 2.2.4f
RAM Requirements are now substantially lower than previous releases.
(about 30MB peak)
Larger access chunks for jaederstorm, and some optimizations for faster scanning.
larger chunk savings for PSD format.
Fixes to MP3 Integrity scanner.
Fixes to RAR Integrity scanner.
---------------------------------------------------------------------

History--------------------------------------------------------------
fixes in 2.2.4e
Fixed HTML ripper.
Fixed flawed TGF/AMF Ripper.
Fixed CAB Ripper.
Fixed LHA Ripper.
Removed Broken SWF rippers.

History--------------------------------------------------------------
fixes in 2.2.4d
Ragefix: a severe bug in the threading made smaller files (2MB to 8MB)
crash the dumper and pollute the cachelist file, and therefore
made it seem like it never found any files. this has now been fixed.

Special thanks to µB for leading me into this 5 hour debugging spree.
it was awful.
---------------------------------------------------------------------

History--------------------------------------------------------------
fixes in 2.2.4c
Threading fixes: Threads are now not working on the same dataset
and variables.
Due to scheduling errors in previous jaederstorm, some files
might have been missed during scanning. this is now solved.
Will now take advantage of Quad Core CPUs.

Memory requirements are now substantially higher than in previous versions.
DDS dumper should now be faster.
filedumping in general should be faster due to smarter refreshing.

Display fixes:
Progressbar should now display both the correct pre-scanning
and filedumping progress.

Known issues: sometimes threads will fail, this doesnt invalidate the ripping
progress though, it just makes the ripper slower than usual.
I dont know why yet.
---------------------------------------------------------------------

History--------------------------------------------------------------
fixes in 2.2.4a
Severe fix: previous versions had a fucked up scanning routine, so they
skipped half the file. jesus hell.
more crap added, i dont know what, also debug version of jaederstorm
included in this release, it was meant for me to see what the engine
did wrong. dont have the time right now to make it undebug. :P
neat numbers to watch anyways if you are bored.

did some provisoric cleanup on the optionscreen, not finished yet.
also not all formats that are added just now is working due to this
quick release. ---------------------------------------------------------------------

History--------------------------------------------------------------
fixes in 2.2.3Z
Falsedetection improved. Removed debug code for CAB detection. (woops)
Temporarly disabled MO3 support, under investigation for strange behavior.
---------------------------------------------------------------------

History--------------------------------------------------------------
fixes in 2.2.3R
Now detects CAB files properly.
Blur Texture to DDS Conversion supported.
Listcache pollution fixed from FLC and Targa Entries, this was a major cause
of slowdowns on some archives with lots of slackdata.
BMP Integrity fixed aswell on the cachelist, so less pollution from there
too with falsepositives.
---------------------------------------------------------------------

History--------------------------------------------------------------
fixes in 2.2.3U
New tweaks and re-adding of broken formats.
scanner is now threaded, with an increase of aprox 80% speed if
you have an Dual Core CPU.
(and yes, the previous 1.3gb file i used to test is now scanned in
10 seconds), keep in mind that this doesnt apply to all archives,
its highly dependable of if its something of value in them,
and how much files that has to be ripped out later.

The key for making the scanner this fast is that its easier to check
if something is rippable and not, now you dont have to wait
10 minutes to scan a 2GB large file.

Now onto optimizing the actual performance output on saving the files.
---------------------------------------------------------------------

INFO FOR THE EXPERIMENTAL BUILD 2.2.3C3
--------------------------------------------------------------
BMP Enabled again. DDS now rips again with the new engine.
and other various formats re-added, and scanner made yet again faster.
(aprox 50-100% from previous alpha release)
in a very explicit case i scanned a 1.3gb file in 18 seconds.
thats with ALL available formats that is currently working properly.
(Zlib not included)

Fixed file access bugs and excessive flicker on certain types of detections,
in Jaeder Naub component.
---------------------------------------------------------------------
INFO FOR THE EXPERIMENTAL BUILD 2.2.1k2
-------------------------------------------------------------------
New method of pre-scanning is now used in Jaederstorm component,
this results in up to 200%-300% faster scanning than previous generations.
This is a milestone for the prescanner, and is being experimented
with alot at the moment.

This is however a very volatile build, and may not work properly
at the moment, because i have to convert all detections manually
from the old "ScanAddress, Compare Checksum" method to this
highly optimized version. The formats that only have 1 byte or 2 bytes
of detection are not currently supported due to incompatibilites
with the new engine, this WILL be fixed soon.

So, BMP files and Zlib detection is currently unavailable, and some
other obscure formats.
---------------------------------------------------------------------

History--------------------------------------------------------------
fixes in 2.2.1k
Pre-scanning is now approximately 35% Faster than before.
Internal fixes have made Dumping of fileformats that had no length
detection much faster.
(the optimized JaederStorm is though now in beta, these optimizes
could possibly brake something)
Use older version if something doesnt work properly.

History--------------------------------------------------------------
fixes in 2.2.0a
Rearranged in the GUI a bit to remove excessive stuff. and rearrange
placements of buttons in RawDisplay Window.
Macromedia CXT File Audioripping. (still in betatesting)
---------------------------------------------------------------------

History--------------------------------------------------------------

Shadow display of variations of 16-bit Audio in RawDisplay Added.
RawDisplay now has a Scrollbar for changing offset.
Stepping in RawDisplay and Main Window does not jump 2 times in a row anymore.
PSP G3TH Texture added.
Changed TIM2 Detection a bit, untested though. Will work on a total fix.
Changed Zlib framesize a bit.
---------------------------------------------------------------------

History--------------------------------------------------------------
fixes in 2.1.6a
PopCap Game Archives is now scannable/ripable.
More filetype detections.
Fixed overlapping of views in Raw Display window, now its cleared
when swapping displaytype.
Added yet another level of stepping for Raw Display.
HexView now has functional stepping aswell, that will update the internal offset.
Added a Solidscope view for Audio in Raw Display, and is now faster.
Made changes to how bruteforce Zlib works, and will now save larger
chunks for adding to the final file, which helps prevent broken
files. (for when you use Auto ZlibC usage when Zlib Detect, & Append Chunk)
where the result will be one big file.
Drawback of this is that its now slower (and files eat up a fixed amount of space)
, but works better on zlib archives that cannot be extracted otherwise
with other tools.
BAF Audio detections is NOT enabled by default anymore, too many falserips.
RawDDs Ripper to TGA Converter.
Playstation SD0 textures.

While im at it. rewrote the JPEG dumper aswell.
now its about 490000 trillion times faster.
thank you very much. (hopefully this hack holds, it did to my tests)

but ofcourse havent tested it fullscale yet :P oh well.

Some damn flicker should now been taken care of while ripping.

and did something with the PK ripper to fix something annoying.

The OggRipper should now be fixed, i found a flaw in it, and that was
that it wasnt working at all. so i fixed it once again by rewriting the
whole damn thing. a plus is though its rather fast now =o

and should take whatever damn Oggs thrown at it. I hope.

Thanks to Melvin for kicking me in the ass.

Raw Display bugs that was introduced with JaederKnight has
now been solved, (except for 8bit bug), it should now display
the correct image as intended.
Also removed tons of debug Message Boxes, i have no idea how long
they have been there, but it must have annoyed the crap out of
some people who used those specific filetypes :D
---------------------------------------------------------------------

History--------------------------------------------------------------
fixes in 2.1.2J
Testing JaederKnight component which is now a part of the Raw Display
screen, and offers far superior performance when displaying raw data
over the other built-in crap that was before.

Still some issues to fix with it though. 8-bit reading
doesnt work at the moment.

Added a "Play Sound" preview button in Raw Display Screen
so you can now listen to the wave displayed on the screen.

I guess many people noticed I've been busy doing other things during 2008,
well, I can assure you that Jaeder Naub hasn't died or been abandoned in anyway,
it's still my little child!

Let's hope for a better rippingyear of 2009 =D

Im aiming to fix some crash issues that happens on some filetypes/archives
and more "Convert on RIP" for some of the existing rippers to make
the files into a more convinient format. also the Zlib detector needs a
major rewriting, since it sucks mostly.
oh well, happy new year everybody! =D

History--------------------------------------------------------------
fixes in 2.1.2A
Silent Hill 5 (possible other Double Helix games) SYT Texture detection
and autoconversion to DDS Implemented.
Some DDS textures are corrupted, will be fixed, its probably
something easy i didn't think of.
Added more fileformat recognitions.

From now the EXEs are unpacked, due to many anti-virus crap
detects it as a virus =P
